Housing Pirates are "in our waters" again
As we look ahead to our 2017 Conference at the Gaylord National in July, we are once again receiving reports from several sources that our conference attendees, specifically exhibitors, are being targeted by "housing pirates." These companies phone, fax, or email attendees and exhibitors, claiming to offer good deals on hotel rooms. They claim to be affiliated with The Church Network. One company refers to itself as Convention Housing Services, Inc., and is calling with the false claim that our contracted rooms at the Gaylord National are full but that they can secure housing for them. This is not true; there are still plenty of rooms in our block.
If you provide your credit card information to one of these companies, your card may be charged and you might not have the hotel room when you arrive. Unless you have initiated the communication, you should never provide anyone with your personal information, especially your credit card number.
If you are contacted by someone asking if you need a room for The Church Network Conference in July, or if they represent themselves as calling from The Church Network, please get as much information as you can, such as the name of the company, the person calling, and the phone number. Then contact our national office at 800.898.8085 or Email us at email@example.com.
